As the lead and sole developer at GetRooms, which was a startup, I developed a room reservation system for hostels aimed at serving university students. The system proved successful, with around 10 hostels actively using it for room reservation and student and room management.
As the CTO at GetRooms, I achieved the following:
- Scalability: Transitioned the booking system from a 'one hostel to one application' setup to a single database multi-tenant system which worked very well at scale in both development and onboarding of customers.
- Innovation: Oversaw the addition of new features to the booking system and provided system design for new features.
- Skill development: Gained expertise in multi-tenant application architectures and web server administration.
